Defending champions Bull Bay will play out of Zone B alongside Browns Town, New Kingston, Rockfort, Rae Town, Harbour View, Central Kingston and Tivoli Gardens.
Zone C includes Maxfield, Olympic Gardens, Arnett Gardens, Seaview Gardens, Greenwich Town, Molynes, Boys’ Town and Waterhouse.
Red Hills, Maverley-Hughenden, Cooreville, Stony Hill, Pembroke Hall, Duhaney Park, Constant Spring and Meadforest make up Zone D.
KSAFA president, Stewart Stephenson, is all smiles as he receives a cheque of $600,000 from McKay Security’s CEO, Jason McKay, at the launch of the KSAFA Under-20 tournament at the Pollyanna Restaurant yesterday.
THE Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) has booted the elite format from its Under-20 youth competition, which kicks off tomorrow with Alliance Finance and McKay Security the new sponsors.
Previously, some clubs played as an elite group called the Super 12 and others competed in a lower-tiered group based on geography. The top four from the Super 12 and the top four (two apiece) from the other groups would advance to the quarter-finals.
However, this year the teams have been divided into four groups of eight, with the top two – after playing each other once – advancing toe quarters.
At yesterday’s launch at the Pollyanna Restaurant, Carvel Stewart, KSAFA’s first vice-president and chairman of Harbour View Football Club, said “elitism is unfair to aspiring clubs with talented players”, as the bigger clubs would attract better players, thus stifling development.
The tournament has been sponsored to the tune of $1.8 million and will be called the Alliance Finance/McKay Security 2015 KSAFA Under-20 competition, with the winners set to walk away with $50,000, second $40,000, third $30,000 and fourth $20,000.
McKay Security is not a newcomer to sports sponsorship, but the company is mainly associated with horse racing and tae kwon do. However, CEO, Jason McKay, was straight-forward about his company’s objective and purpose for joining allegiance with one of the nation’s main sport of choice.
“This give us an opportunity to reach out to a larger crowd of persons than if we were normally just reaching out to the isolated groups. It is a good way to position your company (for growth) and give your product a good boost and that is our real reason for doing it,” he explained.
“But it is something that we have always wanted to get into, but nobody really approached us. Football uses a lot of security, so there is also good business in it. But it has nothing to do with anything else, it’s just good business. It’s good to get your name out there and we expect a positive spin-off,” he added.
Thirty-two teams – divided into four groups – will contest the tournament when it gets underway tomorrow. Each zone winner will receive $7.500 for topping their respective group.
Disappointment
Zone A consists of August Town, Barbican, Swallowfield, Allman/Woodford, Santos, Mountain View, Cavalier and Real Mona.
Defending champions Bull Bay will play out of Zone B alongside Browns Town, New Kingston, Rockfort, Rae Town, Harbour View, Central Kingston and Tivoli Gardens.

Meanwhile, KSAFA president, Stewart Stephenson, expressed disappointment in Jamaica’s Under-20 team’s performance at the just concluded CONCACAF Under-20 Championship and encouraged the players who will compete in this year’s competition to aspire for the next World Cup in Russia.

MONA FC were confirmed overall leaders in JN/KSAFA Super League football competition, after they defeated fourth-placed Maxfield Park FC 2-0 at Maxfield Park playing field on Saturday.
Chevon Stewart scored in the 27th minute and second-half substitute Gavin McKay added another goal in the 64th to give Mona their fourth win of the season. It was a result that made Mona sole leaders with 12 points after joint leaders at the start of the round, UWI were held to a 1-1 draw by August Town at the Mona Bowl.
Troylan Williams scored for August Town in minute 54, while Mitch Wright scored in minute 59 for a share of the points.
At Maxfield Park, Mona took full advantage of some poor finishing by their hosts to come away winners.
Before Mona scored, Maxfield Park had the better of the exchanges as they moved faster to the ball, but failed to score from the chances that they created.
Then Chad Bennett pinched the ball off Maxfield Park’s defender Nyron Lee, after the defender failed to heed the advice of his goalkeeper Deangelo Austin to pass the ball back to him. The result was that Bennett went clear before crossing to Stewart, who struck a telling right-foot shot away from Austin.
At the break Mona sought to sure up their defence and brought on O’Deanny Morris in place of George Smart and things started to look promising for the leaders. However, with their leading scorer Jordon Moses somewhat suffering from a hamstring problem, McKay was introduced in minute 61.
Three minutes later he doubled the lead and should have made it 3-0 in the 77th minute, but missed his mark by some inches.
In other Zone A results, Allman/Woodford and Shortwood United ended 0-0, while in Zone B, Rockford FC and Santos FC ended 2-2; Brown’s Town edged Bull Bay 1-0, and Rae Town FC courtesy of goals from Orlando Walters and Rasheed Dawkins defeated Mountain View FC 2-0.

Constant Spring, led by a brace from Ramone Brevitt defeated Meadforest 3-1 in the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)/JNBS Major League at Maverley playing field on Sunday.
Brevitt netted in the 10th and 59th minutes, while Jason Monteith added another goal in the 35th minute. Andre Walker scored for the losers in the 7nd minute.
In other results in Zone A, Cooreville Gardens edged Red Hills 1-0 at Red Hills and Molynes and Duhaney Park battled to a 1-1 draw at Molynes. In a game played on Saturday, Maverley/Hughenden clipped Pembroke Hall 1-0 at Maverley Complex.
In Zone B action, Central Kingston beat Police National 1-0; Seaview 2, New Kingston 1; Swallowfield 1, Olympic Gardens 4 and Whitfield Town 2, JDF FC 1.

Wild Street Fashion won the inaugural Allman/Woodford FC 2014 Xmas Knockout six-a-side football competition after defeating Drama Quad 2 – 1 on penalties after playing to a nil all draw. For their win they collect the winning trophy and $20,000.00 first prize.
Drama Quad collected the second prize trophy and $10,000.00 for their effort. Third place goes to Price Lane and forth place went to Scammer Squad.
Kaddona Collins of Drama Squad was the leading goal scorer.
A total of sixteen team participate in the competition which started on Sunday, December 28, 2014 and concluded on Thursday, January 1, 2015.

Allman/Woodford, who remain unbeaten in the Super League Zone A, having drawn their previous three games, moved to six points after edging Santos FC 1-0 at Bell Chung Oval to register their first win of the season.
Playing a high-pressed game from the opening whistle Allman/Woodford forced the former joint leaders Santos into making several cardinal defensive blunders before Leslie Johnson spun and fired a rocket past goalkeeper Russell Hosang in the 33rd minute of play to keep their unbeaten record in tact from four matches.
However, the Nicholas Stewart-coached Allman/Woodford had to withstand a resurgent second half from Santos to hold on to their narrow lead. Goalkeeper Jovell Plunkett made the victory possible by framing several spectacular saves from very close range.
In other games Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super League leaders Real Mona and Brown’s Town continue to plunder the opposition with convincing wins in rescheduled matches played yesterday.
At Butter Cup Park Real Mona hammered Rockfort 3-0 to move to nine points in Zone A, with Jordan Moses scoring all three goals. Meanwhile Brown’s Town continued their march to the top of Zone B with nine points from a comfortable 2-0 win against UWI.
In other matches Maxfield Park were held to a 1-1 draw by Rae Town at Maxfield Park, Mountain View and Shortwood played to a similar scoreline.
